Recently I found out about this web 2.0 application, pageflakes , that is really useful, and indeed, design with the users in mind.
They won the "start pages" in SEOMOZ web 2.0 awards
Since I started using it, I can readily access my gmail, digg, news, rss and to-do list all in one easy & configurable startpage. Highly recommended.
